Wellness Wednesday - CBD
I wanted to start off by saying that my accounts of taking CBD oil is in no way a form of medical advice. I am not a doctor or medical professional. These are only my experiences with taking CBD oil. Please consult your doctor/medical professional before trying anything new, even if it is an all-natural product.
My CBD journey started in October of 2017. My anxiety/depression was not getting any better and I had horrible period cramps that would keep me on the couch/in bed with horrible pain for at least 2 days. My period pain got worse in high school and was not getting better. My mom had been doing a lot of research about CBD oil and its benefits so at that point we both started taking it. We took it by drops under the tongue.
Upon the first dose I was already feeling calm. I had started my period not too long after and my pain was already cut in half. I was still sore but was able to get through my day. I started off with the 500mg bottle because it was the lower dose as I was new to taking it. A bottle generally lasts me a month as I only take 10-15 drops a day.
Since then, I have tried a few different brands of CBD and eventually landed on one that works really well for me. Calyx. They use grapeseed oil as a carrier, which alone as many great benefits. I am now taking the 1000mg bottle (it is called HEAL), this dose has eliminated my period pain by 95% and has made my anxiety/depression a lot easier to manage. It has made it easier to organize my thoughts and talk to myself, which is a big step. It is not a complete cure but like I said, 100 times easier. Also, I am still taking 10-15 drops per day.
I also do not just take CBD oil alone; I also make sure to take my vitamins and supplements. Plus staying hydrated is so important, so I make sure to drink lots of water.
So that all being said, if you have not tried CBD oil before and want to then talk to your doctor and do your research. In my journey there were certain brands of CBD oil where it had the smallest percentage of THC in it and one dose kept me awake all night. Always start small when you are trying something new.
Hope this helps!
